“Understanding your dog and knowing how to control him, develop his potentials, and resolve behavior problems, emotional conflicts and frustrations are no less essential than love and respect” ~Michael W. Fox
If you believe your dog deserves nothing less than the kindest, most humane and most effective dog trainer available you have come to the right place.
Dog training and behavior modification using positive reinforcement is the one investment where you will see an immediate payoff. As a matter of fact I will guarantee after your very first lesson and within just a few days of practice you will observe a significant improvement in your dog’s behavior. Many dog owners tell me they notice significant improvements even after just the first day! You’ll be amazed how quickly you learn how to create the behaviors you want in your dog as well as the convenience of setting up your lesson times according to your schedule. As you learn the techniques to train your dog it will become immediately clear how efficient and highly effective you’ve become in producing an obedient and confident dog. You will become skilled at using positive reinforcement methods which will help you build a great life long relationship with your family’s dog.
Best of all you will have the knowledge and experience you need to keep those changes in place for years to come.
“In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog” ~Edward Hoagland
Teaching you to think like your dog is what I do. Once you understand how your dog thinks you will understand how to recognize the signals your dog uses to communicate. Making this your first step in strengthening your bond. Without learning the tools to communicate effectively the only way to proceed with dog training and attempts to change behavior is with the "old school" dog trainers' ways of punishment training with the danger that damage or harm will occur. Research as well as my own experience confirms dogs taught only with punishment-based training (although reversible) is sure to leave a lasting impact on the relationship between the owner and their dog. Instead of stressing you and your dog out you will learn how you can reward your dog to obtain and reinforce the desired behaviors that you know you want your dog to have. These positive reinforcement methods are not only fun for you and fun for your dog but they work!
By the way your dog watches you constantly reading your body language, and is more then capable of determining your moods and emotional states as well. You will learn why dogs seem to seek out people who are cool, calm and collected.
That's the key -you talk to your dog in his own language, and as he learns what is expected of him he will actually start to think on his own and choose the right behavior!
Not all certified Dog Trainers are certified Puppy Trainers.
Over the years I’ve found that by using positive training techniques, socializing, and imprinting the behaviors you are looking for puppies as young as 8 weeks old learn faster and retain the information better then dogs that are trained at 6 months or older. But obedience training by itself won’t teach your dog to tolerate frustration which turns out to be the root of many problem behaviors including some forms of aggression
”Dogs never talk about themselves but listen to you while you talk about yourself, and keep up an appearance of being interested in the conversation” ~Jerome K. Jerome
I will solve your dog’s behavior problems regardless of age or breed including housebreaking, barking, jumping, counter surfing, destructive behavior, nipping, and biting including any and all dog aggression problems.
